Flat Tires...

Hmm I think that something fishy is going on if I do say so myself..

On Saturday journey-guy visited my apartment only to get a flat tire... Last night Smoker-Guy visited my apartment only to get a flat tire.. WTF.. I don't like flat tires.. I already had one this year I don't want another one.. gah

A week of updates.. sorta

So let's see since last Friday I spent alot of time with Smoker-guy... we went out with his friends on Friday and I got much much much too drunk..

Saturday journey-guy took care of me because I had absolutely no desire to being doing anything but sleeping.. Kind of Ironic I'd say but okay..

Then let's see.. Tuesday was test. Wednesday was work. Thursday I went out with Smoker-guy... he has a tendency to say things when drinking and later rehash them. He invited me to dinner and to go out on Friday except then on Friday he had no money... So I went out with Natealike guy for dinner and went out to drink with SmokerGuy after. Spent the night at SmokerGuys house cause I wasn't driving home..

I think I might actually like SmokerGuy more than the rest which of course sucks cause today I got the shrugg off.. He told me he wanted to spend most of the weekend with me and now doesnt want to do anything.. I think that guys must just know when you start to like them and that's when they decide to not like you.. I don't know... It's a good thing that I have backups lol or rather other options because I might be hurt.. lol

The shirt of question???

So I have a shirt... at my apartment.. that could be 1 of 2 of the dates.. and I have no idea which one it is.. now this presents quite the delimea because to ask if this is your shirt begs the question who else's shirt would it be.. or if it is then why would you be asking you know it's mine. So instead of the direct asking approach I've left it sitting at the end of my bed on my seating area and hope that the owner comes to claim it.

How to: Pick a Mate?

So I was trying to think of a decent subject to discuss in todays blog and it just wasn't really happening.. I will give you an update on life but I kept trying to think of something better to talk about.. I had searched.. types of fish no... how to do this how to do that.. then I came across how to: Pick your mate... on ehow.com... Something so hard was described in three easy steps for those who are looking.. Let's see what they had to say with perhaps some added commentary.

Picking a partner for life is the most important decision you will ever make. I was certainly unaware it was such a conscious decision on your part. I know you have to find someone you mesh well with but hell if it was only based on what you want.. it'd be so much easier right? Your eyes will send false signals to your heart, and your body will let its desires be known. Don't give in to your heart or body with out checking with the mind first. I think I might have the opposite problem.. My mind seems to outweigh both my heart and my body. It tells me it's the right decision or the right choice.. and that there's only a certain amount of time to have kids and get married and all those things.. and yet the body and the heart is saying it's just not there yet... or somethign to that extent. but regardless let's continue: Here is how to pick a mate to love until the end of time:

Step1

Decide what's important to you in a mate. If being able to provide you with a good future is important, eliminate all your suiters with out the three "C's" Career, Car, and Cash which make it possible to achieve and maintain a high living standard. It is hard to achieve the American dream broke. Here's my first problem.. I have alot of things that are important to me when it comes to a mate, but I do tend to give in and alter my expectations. I'm pretty sure if I kept my standards so high I'd never have a date. I also think that I'm not perfect and so my standards are lowered a good 10 degrees simply because what I think I can catch. You gotta wonder what kind of person is writing this ehow especially when you get to steps 2 and 3 and the tips lol

Step2

Before getting involved and putting your heart in danger, do a background check. Eliminate all suiters with a criminal record. Criminals come along with pain,heart ache, and loneliness because they eventually get locked up. No reason to give your parents and friends reasons to gloat and say "I told you so!" LOL LOL LOL did I mention LOL ?

Step3

Make sure your potential mate is available and not married to someone else. If you are being pursued by someone who is pledged to another, they are breaking their vows, and can't be trusted. Disloyalty is a flaw in character not conducive of a life-long relationship. Chances are if they cheat on their current mate, they will disrespect you in the same manner.

Tips & Warnings

• Where you find your mate has a lot to say about their character. If you don't want to partner with a drunk, don't choose someone you met at the bar!
• Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly goes all the way to the bone!

What to say

So I have two thoughts.

1. why do random guys make you their favorites on pof and then never message you or try and talk to you???

and 2. man I was annoyed of guys today. No one I text knew what I was saying or something and they all responded to something I didn't say and I was getting super annoyed... because well it was happening multiple times which means that all these boys can't read text messages or that I apparently don't come across how I think I do when I text. I'm hoping for the former and not the later.

Let's see other updates.. I saw Smoker-Guy on Tuesday and we went to see The curious case of benjamin button which was great. although there was lots of cuddling attempts and hand holding and I can tell he wants to move forward in the relationship.. I wish he would quit smoking.. think I could bribe him to stop?

Ah I also failed to mention that I went out to eat with Nate-alike guy on sunday and he has already been scheming with his friend to go on double dates to this resturant on St. Charles.. a hornet's game.. and IHOP... He's big on IHOP which I find so odd.. we only ever went to IHOP to study late into the night.. even when drunk we avoided at all costs for steak-n-shake... Odd

I also saw him briefly Monday to give him beads to throw in Orpheus.. so I am down by 3 garbage bags of mardi gras beads whatever will I do... oh wait.. get more I'm sure. My mom is sending dresses for the orpheuscapade things and hopefully one fits so I can save money..

Updates: Girlfriend

So I think it's different how things change after highschool and college.. or maybe it's just what you don't want at the time that happens. I like this dating thing. I enjoy meeting new people.. Today was the 3rd time in the best 2 months or so that I was asked to be someone's girlfriend (different person than the other twwo times).. I don't know how to respond to that except to say I'm not ready to be anyone's girlfriend. It's very flattering though. I've always wanted that.. I was that girl who always wanted a boyfriend and never had it and so it's weird to be on the opposite end.. to have people wanting to date me exclusively and me not wanting to. What do you do with that situation?

I'm not sure.. but I thought I'd give you all an update on my life.. I still have to update you on 2. Towed-Guy and 1. Journey Guy.. I haven't forgotten don't worry.. just been busy actually staying on top of schoolwork.. amazing

Update from yesterday

So yesterday I went to a fundraiser at a bar which was super fun. It was with one of the guys and so was a nice date to go on. This fundraiser is where all the medical students who play musical instruments or dance or any performance get to perform live for anyone at the bar. It was just $5 with drink specials ($2 dollar domestics all night and $1 highlife) and free food (although it was donated so it was not nearly enough to feed the masses).

We stayed til one of my roommates performed a dance and then we headed off in an attempt to find food. Of course little did we know all the good food places closed just 15 minutes earlier at 11pm such as the Mexican place with the great cheese dip for chips. Normally I would not give into such wasteful calorie snacks but when you drink that's what happened.. Instead we headed home and watched a movie and slept.. Fun times

3. Guy-that-would-never-date-me Guy

So 3. is an odd guy. He's super cute, very outgoing almost like the popular guy in school who you'd think you never had a shot with except we aren't in school anymore. He has done the bad boy thing now he's trying to go to college change his life around. He's still not sure what he wants if he wants long term or just dating or what.. which is fine.

We went to the movies.. We saw I can't remember now.. something stupid probably.. Not quantum of solace saw that with Smoker-guy. Hmm. not Bolt saw that with Journey-guy.. Also saw Twilight with Journey-Guy.. well I can't remember.. but I'm pretty sure it was some kind of guy movie.. maybe..

Then we got some beer and walked around the lake which was fun. I haven't really talked to him since except for brief attempts to tell me he was stupid in not attempting to kiss or hug me.. Hence why I say he really doesn't seem to know what he wants. He wanted to get together again and then did and then did and now I'm not sure but I'll still consider it.. I had fun so whose to complain. We will see what happens.. more updates to come..

Brief update before bed

So I just wanted to update real quick that I was on a date with number 4 Nate-alike guy.. we had dinner and went to the movies.. Saw bedtime stories and not only was Journey playing in the previews for certain upcoming movies.. it also played DURING Bedtime stories and at the end during the credits.. someone please tell me that's not odd.. or a sign or something ... seriously?

4. First-Date Guy

So let's see..

First-Date guy received his name because well he was the first guy I met offline and went out with. We went to the Frat house on a Thursday where it was $10 cover and all you can drink beers for free (included in your cover).. So I think we both managed to drink 6 or 7 before it got super late and we called it a night.

I haven't really gone out on any other dates with First-Date guy instead he usually meets us when we're out.. He's been at a couple Post-Block parties or accompanied me home in a drunken state such as Halloween. He somehow became our DD for Halloween because who knows. I don't remember much of that night.

He's in massage therapy school which is good. Lives at home. Is my age. Is fun to be around. Was the first to say he loves me after just a few short meetings (aka cuddling and movies other than the going out and first dates).. Very unexpected. He has health problems of some sort I'm not really sure what.. Of course as I'm in medical school I try and figure everything out but all my guesses have been wrong lol.. Who knows maybe it's just regular doctor visits I don't know..

We get along well, he's shorter than me, we like to drink together. The few dates we had planned (one which I wanted to go to this festival at a mansion vineyard close to NOLA) he slept through. So I don't know exactly what to tell you about him.. definitely fun.. long term potential who knows.

He wants me to meet his parents.. and I've tried my best to avoid it.. I am not ready to meet parents. I haven't seen him since before Thanksgiving but we've been busy or elusive. There are plans in the works and updates to come I'm sure..

5. Nate-alike guy

So this is a rather long story and only one person really understands where the name comes from. I think that Nate-alike guy has never really had a girlfriend or maybe never even dated, and so perhaps is a little awkward when it comes to such things. He always makes sure it's okay and he's not bothering me when he texts and talks to me but in general that is the most annoying of anything cause I don't normally mind texts and ims. The last of the three dates (and where he gets his nickname) was when he asked if he could take my picture, hence the reference to Nate.. very awkward to say the least.

He is in school to be a student teacher of History I believe (remind you of anyone who may also never have gone on a date or had a girlfriend.. odd lol).. He is sitting out this semester for whatever reasons (something to do with a test he has to pass to student teach) and is looking for a job right now.

We met in Metairie at the Putt Putt Glow in the dark miniature golf, which I will say off the bat is not very fun. It has potential except that this particular Putt Putt is in a small limited space and the whole are about 3 feet long. Nothing to compare to Florida which had Putt Putt holes of 80-101 feet and then some. But it was okay to walk around and talk. It was followed up by a movie for the night of which I can't recall what.

Second date was at this whole in the wall coffee house with his friend. They played trivial pursuit of which I know none so I just kinda hang out.. You all would have liked the coffee shop except for the packs of teens running rampant. It was very eccentric and you could tell had a certain style. The only other date included meeting at this school in Metairie on a Sunday (so it was deserted) and I brought Hollywood because we were going to just walk the levy or something, but as it turned out this school is all fenced in football and soccer fields and so Hollywood had a playday and ran and caught tennis balls for a few hours.

Haven't really seen 5. since then but have talked and like post from yesterday mentioned was invited to the ball. Must find a fancy dress.. or have one sent from home.. but besides that it'll be alot of fun..

I was invited to the Orpheuscapade by guy #5 for pre-mardi gras day (Monday). Should be very exciting.. Only drawback.. I'm in need of a dress lol it's black-tie attire. Update: Flowers

Flowers are a wonderful thing. They make you smile. How flowers ever started being passed from boy to girl for dating I will never know. However, today I received flowers from #1 Journey-guy lol. Just thought you'd all like to know

6. Smoker-Guy

We'll start with the last one and work our way up.. As it's easier that way..

Number 6 is Smoker-guy... he may also be known as southern accent guy because of all the guys I've met he's the one who has the heaviest draw. He is a welder I believe.. and our first meeting was at well his truck.. He parked by Superior grill we met up and headed to a little bar near uptown.

I'll haveta say that first dates definitely improve with beer. I don't know how much chemistry we have.. and since he was apparently broke til his next pay check I bought most of the drinks.. We talked.. chatted.. made some small talk... nothing bad..

Since then there has been a date to the movies (Pride and Glory I want to say)... a movie/cuddle date at his friends house (Which his friend had a super nice house). We watched that magic movie.. The illusionist or something I can't remember. This was first kiss attempt day.. it was brief and kissing skills may need to be improved.. and smoking definitely needs to cease. Our last date was yesterday in fact. More movies (300) and cuddling but at his house. He got his christmas present (just little things) of which included camoflauge and knives which he wanted. And a shot glass which he requested from Disney world. :-)

He likes the outdoors and hunting.. of which I'm not sure how fond I am. He works full time which is good, no schooling (maybe an associates not sure). He just bought a new truck which is his baby.

Let's see.. overall, he's fun to be around. Not sure how far it'll go but I'll keep you posted.. Look for next post on 5. Nate-alike guy.
